Tripped Breaker

If your circuit breaker has tripped, you can reset it by pushing the breaker lever to the "OFF" position, then to the "ON" position. If the breaker continues to trip, please call us, and we'll be happy to come out and resolve the issue.

Tripped Breaker

When a technician visits for HVAC service, like a tune-up or duct cleaning, they may turn off the furnace switch. Occasionally, they forget to turn it back on, which can cause a power outage for your system.

Heating and cooling thermostat

Thermostat Settings

Thermostat Settings

HVAC thermostats have become increasingly sophisticated, which can make them a bit more challenging to use. Regularly checking your thermostat settings is a good idea. Be sure to check "hold temp" and programmable settings.

HVAC air filter

Dirty Air Filter

Thermostat Batteries

Thermostat Settings

A blocked air filter is a common issue with heating and air conditioning systems. It can lead to various problems, including overheating furnaces and frozen A/C coils. Maintaining a clean air filter is critical for efficient HVAC operation.

Thermostat Batteries

Replace your battery-powered thermostat batteries annually, or sooner if the battery icon is showing. It's a good first step if your system isn't functioning correctly. Some thermostats use batteries for back up power only.

If you notice ice on your AC or Heat Pump and your system isn't functioning correctly, turn it off and call us for service. Our technician will quickly diagnose the problem and provide a detailed report with recommendations.

Blinking red bulb

Diagnostic LED

Diagnostic LED

Diagnostic LED

Most gas furnaces have a small sight glass built into the bottom furnace door. A small blinking light, visible through this glass, indicates the type of lockout the furnace is experiencing by blinking a certain number of times. The number of blinks can be cross-referenced with a diagnostic chart. To reset the fault, turn the furnace switch off, then back on.

Heat pump unit

Check Heat Pump

Diagnostic LED

Diagnostic LED

If you've confirmed your thermostat is set to heat and is at least 5 degrees higher than the room temperature, check that the outdoor heat pump unit is running. This helps to ensure your heat pump system is using the most efficient source of heating, especially if you've noticed higher than normal electric bills.

Icy PVC pipes

Furnace Venting

Diagnostic LED

Furnace Venting

High-efficiency gas furnaces have exhaust and intake vents that extend outside your home or business. Each time the heat is on, these pipes push and pull exhaust and intake air, potentially drawing in debris like leaves. Regularly check for any obstructions or potential obstructions around these vents.
